Africa could get wired off ICANN funds
Although ICANN is really only known in the Internet and technology sectors they wield quite a bit of power concerning our daily lives. They own all the top level domain websites and then soon in the future will be owning all the new gTLDs that now people believe could make a huge difference, yet still stir a lot of controversary when it comes to some countries special requests. With the application fees being astronomically high ICANN is having some serious increases of revenue. It is proposed that the entire content of Africa could benefit from this money by having it be connected to the Internet. Only 15% of Africa has Internet access. ICANN could afford to do this venture. It is proposed that mesh technologies would be able to span far and be an affordable solution. To read further click here.
