Will Cybersquatters be stopped?
With the new extensions thats were released just this past June, ICANN says that this will thwart cybersquatters from purchasing new domains. While entrepreneurs are coming up with clever ideas on how brand these new domain names lawyers are still not sure if these addresses will take off or fizzle. Some lawyers say that the new domain names automatically hold off cyber squatters with the shear cost of buying a name when it has a 185,000 dollar price tag. Companies are willing to pay the high price tag for the security they receive because its much cheaper than a cybersquatting lawsuit. The first applications through ICANN are scheduled in late 2012 with up to five hundred new domain names with their own extensions like .com and .net endings.Lets hope these new domains do thwart cybersquatters.
