DNSSEC is coming to .AT

The Austrian Registry announced at the annual Domain Pulse meeting that they plan to introduce DNSSEC in 2011. The announcement came with heavy concern after German and Swiss Registries had announced their planning to release DNSSEC last year. The German Registry conducted  surveys whether business would support DNSSEC or not and whether they had any intention of buying.  The surveys concluded that it looked highly unfavorable that business had any intention of buying. Even with heavy voiced concerns at the Domain Pulse Conference the introduction of DNSSEC will go ahead as scheduled. The DNS system was originally not designed for security purposes, but will bring internet authentication and security to a whole new level.  Check out the full article at the Goldstein Report.
