Separate but Secure?
There has been a new tidal wave of press about the idea that former CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden had the concept of establishing a new, very secure internet for the government and commerce. Users would give up their privacy in order to the use this internet, with the understanding that their real names would be used. According to internet experts this is a terrible idea and very absolute. The concept that the government could protect our communication pathways and be able to stop cyber attackers is a risk Americans are not willing to take. Having a machine identity credentials doesn’t really evoke advanced security either, due to the fact that you could loose access and control of your information. Bad idea Director Hayden !!!
