Tentative Sunrise launch date of 11 new gTLDs is scheduled for October 29
Sunrise period will be 60 days, with multiple requests of same term to go to auction.
Only those Trademark holders with a valid SMD file issued by the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) may apply for an exact match domain name. Trademark holders will receive notice from the TMCH of allocation of registration of a domain name that is an exact match. Disputes regarding eligibility are handled by TMCH directly.
Auctions: Multiple parties with rights to the same term and who have requested the same name will go to auction. To secure the name in contention, the auction winner will pay the non-refundable application fee plus the winning auction bid amount plus the domain registration fee. The auction loser pays only the non-refundable application fee.
Premium Domains: Some domains will be Premium priced. Sole applicants will be awarded the domain following the 60 day Sunrise. In case of 2 applications for a premium domain, it will go to auction. Bidders must bid at least $1. The winner of the auction will pay the non-refundable application fee plus the winning auction bid amount plus the premium domain registration fee.
Generic Terms: Some generic terms that are trademarked may be withheld from Sunrise.
