We are officially launching the 101domain API and MCP Server—a modern suite of tools designed to bring programmatic control, automation, and AI-driven intelligence and tools to your domain and DNS management.
Two powerful ways to connect

The 101domain RESTful API – Our API is a secure, RESTful programmatic interface that empowers clients to securely access and manage their domain portfolios and account information. Endpoints are accessed via HTTPS and return data in a standardized JSON format, allowing for seamless integration with your internal corporate applications, ERP systems, developer tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
AI-Powered Management via the 101domain MCP Server – In addition to the standard API, we have launched the 101domain MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server. This groundbreaking feature enables AI Agents to interact with our API through natural, conversational chat. By connecting the MCP Server to AI clients like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor, or to workflow automation tools such as n8n and Zapier, you can search, purchase, analyze, and manage your domains using natural language. You can seamlessly execute tasks without any coding or technical experience needed.
Security first, then loads of possibilities
Because domain names and DNS are critical business assets, we architected these tools using a hybrid “Pro-sumer/Enterprise” model. This gives you developer-friendly RESTful flexibility, but places it atop an unbreachable security posture.
- Restricted Key Generation: API keys can only be generated and managed by the account’s Primary User.
- Mandatory 2FA or SSO: To access the Developer Settings and issue an API key, your primary user account must have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled.
- Granular API Scopes: We enforce the principle of least privilege using API Scopes. You can issue up to 10 distinct API keys, each with specific permissions. For example, you can grant an external webmaster an API key with only dns:write and dns:read permissions, ensuring they can view and update DNS records but cannot do anything else.
