More than a few hundred websites are being taken down this week because of a 100 million dollar judgment that was in favor for watch brands such as Cartier, Lange Uhren (A. Lange & Söhne), Officine Panerai, Roger Dubuis, and Alfred Dunhill. The watch brands sued these websites, charging them with copyright infringement, cyber-squatting, and trademark dilution, in the New York federal court. The judgement states that the business sites be taken down in three days. These days courts still have a hard time stamping out the copyright infringement trade online.
