2025 was a year of significant transformation in the domain space. We navigated a high volume of new launches — including .mobile, .bd, .you, .talk, .fast, .free, .hot, .spot, and .kw — alongside complex regulatory shifts in country-code domains (ccTLDs) globally. We also saw a pivotal shift in data privacy, with reduced registry data sharing and the official retirement of WHOIS, and a full transition to ICANN’s RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol).

Momentum into 2026.
While we didn’t cross the finish line on every feature we envisioned for this year, that focus has produced incredible momentum for 2026. We are kicking off the new year with several major releases:
- Enhanced Security with SSO: We are officially launching Single Sign-On (SSO) support for Google, Microsoft, Okta, and OneLogin. This will empower your team to enforce company-wide security and eliminate password fatigue. Note: This is currently in early release in your Account Settings if you’d like to try it today.
- The Client API: Development is in full swing. In Q1, we will roll out Phase One (Read-Only) support for Domains, DNS, Transactions, and Domain Search. This will be followed by full “Read/Write” capabilities with scope-based permissions, allowing you to order, provision, renew, manage DNS, and more.
- The Client Services Portal: For our Brand Protection and Professional Services clients, this new portal will be a game-changer for managing monitoring, enforcement, and integrated services like Red Sift and Cloudflare.
- The Next Round of gTLDs: With ICANN’s final Application Guidebook now published, we are preparing to assist and advise clients interested in applying for their own branded Top-Level Domains (TLDs). Stay tuned for more news to come on this soon…
Finally, keep an eye on the registry front as .mobile and .bd launches move forward, with .ao and .sy on the horizon.
